What is Bala Datta?

Bala Datta, a global program initiated by His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji, is dedicated to the religious instruction and personality development of children. The Krishna Datta Hanuman Temple is proud to be one of the centers running this esteemed program. Bala Datta aims to impart the spiritual and cultural aspects of Indian religion to children in an engaging and enjoyable manner, making the learning process both fun and enlightening.

Here are some highlights of the Bala Datta program at Krishna Datta Hanuman Temple:

• We are celebrating our 11th consecutive year of conducting Bala Datta classes in the Chicagoland area.
• This also marks our fourth year of conducting classes under the title of the Trinity Datta Yoga Center (TDYC), further expanding our reach and impact.
• Our classes are run entirely by selfless volunteers who generously devote their personal time to this noble cause, thus embodying the spirit of seva (service).

Who can Join Bala Datta

Bala Datta is a comprehensive program designed for children from kindergarten through high school. The program provides an enriching environment where children can learn prayers, bhajans, understand the significance of holy days, and imbibe spiritual values. To ensure personalized attention and effective learning, we maintain a small class size. Our dedicated team of volunteer teachers, who are well-versed and experienced in imparting religious values, guide the children through their spiritual journey. Bala Datta is a manifestation of Sri Swamiji's vision to foster spiritual growth in children and inspire them to become compassionate and morally upright individuals.

In Bala Datta, children are not only introduced to, but also trained in essential leadership skills. This includes the art of public speaking and delivering effective presentations. The topics for these presentations and speeches are thoughtfully chosen from the curriculum they've learned throughout the school year, allowing them to reinforce their knowledge while building confidence and communication skills.

How & When to Enroll?

To enroll your child, please submit Registration Form here.

Your child must be at least 5 years old to attend. The birthday cutoff date is Aug 31st.

Classes, Schedule, and Curriculum

• Our teachers bring a high level of creativity to the classroom, ensuring students remain engaged and interested while fostering a positive learning environment.
• The academic year for Bala Datta classes aligns with the traditional school year, running from September 2023 through May 2024.
• The Bala Datta curriculum is diverse and enriching, encompassing activities such as Bhajans, Slokas, Arts & Crafts, Language learning, Projects, Storytelling, Yoga, and Pooja Vidhanam.

• When: First 3 Saturdays of the month
• Time: 10am to 12pm
